Why we train our own people
Most security companies recruit officers who are already licensed and hope the training behind that licence was any good. We took the other route and built the training centre.
I-On Academy is our sister company, a Highfield approved training centre operating from the same site at Spear House in Burntwood. It is a separate business with its own learners and its own public course bookings, but it is where a good part of our own workforce comes from.
For a client that has two practical consequences. We are not waiting on a third party course date before we can put somebody on your contract, and we know exactly what the people we deploy were taught, because we taught them.
What it means for a contract
- Faster mobilisation, because licensing is not queued behind someone else’s course calendar
- A consistent standard across the team rather than a dozen different training providers
- Refresher and renewal handled before a licence lapses, not after
- Additional qualifications added where a contract needs them
