Security in Birmingham
The Jewellery Quarter is unlike anywhere else we work. Several hundred businesses holding genuinely high value stock in a dense, historic street pattern with limited vehicle access and a lot of shared buildings. Cover there is assessment led and often deliberately low profile, because a visible detail outside a particular door tells somebody exactly which door matters.
The city centre retail and hospitality core needs the opposite: officers who are visibly part of the operation, able to greet a customer and still handle an incident without it becoming the thing everyone remembers.
Birmingham construction runs continuously, and sites here are tight, overlooked and surrounded by public footfall. Deployable towers and gatehouse cover do most of the work, with dog units where a site is large enough to justify one.
